I am an experienced Independent Social Worker based in Gloucestershire, with a background of over 10 years in children’s social work, which includes statutory safeguarding, private fostering, and a self-employed Cafcass children’s guardian and family court adviser. I provide an impartial and competent service to all my clients which can be attested through repeat enquiries, and adopt a strengths-based approach ensuring that my clients are active participants in the assessment process and decision-making about them. I view honesty and transparency as integral and fundamental for effective relationship-based practice with service users and professionals alike, with the best interests of the child being central at all times. In recognition of my social work skills and role as childrens participation champion, I was awarded Finalist in the Social Worker of the Year Awards in Gloucestershire.
My social work values are consistently upheld and I adhere to the requisites of my professional registration with Social Work England and the British Association of Social Workers (BASW). I have an enhanced DBS registered with the government update service.
I work in and around Gloucestershire and regularly undertake commissions for Gloucestershire Children’s Services, private fostering agencies, solicitors and individual clients. I take my Continued Professional development (CPD) seriously and ensure that I regularly develop my learning, which has included studying the impact of trauma, therapeutic parenting, mental health, counselling support, attachment and assessing risk.
